Tauern Spa Update

 Tauern Spa Kaprun update  (Spa now open)

 The new 80 million euro spa Tauern Spa, is located in the Austrian Alps,  in the valley bottom between Kaprun and Zell am See, it is scheduled to open in November 2010.

The operator will be Vamed Vitality World which is creating Tauern Spa in Kaprun in the Salzburg, Pinzgau  area of Austria. It will create a brand new new spa and wellness resort for the area.

It is expected that beneficiaries include people from the region and tourists she went on to say that with the Kitzsteinhorn, in the south the snow-capped peaks of the Hohe Tauern, the Pinzgauer Grass Mountains to the north to Zell am See, the view ideal location  for a spa.  .
Initial plans for a spa in Kaprun were considered in 2000. On 4th September 2008 the start of the project came to fruition. It is expected  for the region, this project will create over 200 year-round jobs and training courses and also an  increase in quality of year-round tourism. In the summer the Tauern Spa World to the interesting focus for the walking and wellness and in winter visitors to the Base Station for the ski tourism in the region.
More than 2,100 square meters of water, outdoor & indoor, plus seven different  pools with beautiful mountain views as a backdrop will be on offer. There are also plans for panoramic saunas, steam rooms and rest areas, to add to the experience a lobby with library, hotel bar with live music, restaurant and parlour, beautiful terraces, spacious seminar and conference facilities and a playground. 17 rooms for wellness pampering body and facial treatments,  massages, massage with herbs, wrap packages and spa care available. 

The international health care group Vamed have engaged since 1995 in the spa and wellness area, the group founded  11 years later in 2006 Vamed Vitality World (VVW), the group currently operates six spas / wellness complexes in Austria.

• iii) St. Martin's Lodge Spa,  
• iv) The spa Vienna and 
• v) Health-Oberlaa Bad Sauerbrunn.   

 Around two million visitors annually visit the spas of Vamed Vitality World, making Vitality Austria's largest spa operators.
